“These folks restored my faith in the decency of human beings. I was in desperate need of a tie for court, and had forgotten to pack one. I was stuck in Atlanta, and my hearing began in two hours. All of the clothing stores locally did not open until after my hearing began. On a whim, I stopped in and asked if there was any chance they had any unclaimed ties I could purchase. The owner told me he did not do that, but graciously offered me his own tie, and then scoffed when I offered to pay him. The man, quite literally, gave me "the shirt off his back" (or in this case, the tie off his neck).
